Are online applications available for setting up merchant accounts?

Or calling them up or sending a written application are the only options? Thanks!

It is a relief to know that there are online applications for merchant accounts. Once you visited their websites, you’ll be able to see a link where you can fill up an application. After that, processing varies, some may call you or send you a written form for further confirmation, some may give you a toll-free number for you to call them to speak with an account executive. At the end, there are online applications available for easy accessibility.
I think there are online applications available. I personally don’t bother much with them though since most merchant account providers will ask you for more paperwork anyway. Plus, I like sending in everything just once, so I really prefer to talk to a real live person right away.
I just got a merchant account for my site, so I guess another important question you should ask are the requirements. So FYI, you’d need to provide some due diligence documents such as certificate of incorporation for the corporation, a list of directors, shareholders, certificate showing the registered address, articles of incorporation (and all memorandums) and business licenses. They may also ask you for IDs (like passports), bank certificates, bank reference letters, utility bills of corporation directors. Also, to prove you are merchant account worthy, they might ask for statements from your current or previous merchant account provider if you have one.
If you need more info, you can check out my provider’s FAQs page..there are merchant account approval details there that you might find helpful:
