Help!! SSL? Secure website?

Hi,
I will order some products from a website. I asked this website’s customer service if they had an SSL certificate. And they told me that they were using ISP’s SSL. What is an ISP? I mean, I heard about Verisign, Volusion, Geotrust etc… But ISP? What is it? Do you think this website is not secure? Please share your thoughts with me. Thank you in advance.

  1. ISP means Internet Service Provider

  2. ISP= internet services provider. some isp do have that service. You can get the ssl information on yr own. type the website on the brower. In the address bar it should be https which indicates that it is SSL also on the end of the address bar u will see a lock sign on it.when u click on it it will give you the information about SSL, also the type and byte of encryption.

  3. An ISP is a Internet Service Provider. This is the company that you pay to get a internet connection. A SSL certificate from a ISP used on a site should only be considered valid for purchases up to $200. Anything above that and there will be a large chance that you will have problems getting restitution.
